What about the exhaust from E15? Does that make some of the GMO airborne?

  2. I prefer Fracking waste polluted Flammable Tap Water to e15! It’s much cheaper and all I need is turn on the tap to get it,

It is the % ethanol that can be the problem, not that it is from GMO corn.

  4. The GMO issue is NOT relevant to the E15 ethanol issue. GMO or not, corn is corn, and 15% Ethanol is the problem. Since cars are not a biological system, GMO is not relevant to this issue. That’s pretty transparent ….

    1. Bruce Jala says:

I agree. The article is misleading. There are enough reasons to distrust GMO products, but using GMO and not the percentage of Ethanol discredits the objectivity of the writer.

  5. I think the point that is being made is that GMO technology is allowing the biotech corporations to upscale its influence into more diverse markets and thus cause harm beyond the biological realm too. After all making ethanol from corn has suddenly become profitable due to the greenwashing effect by government which we all know is pro industry/anti human.
15% Ethanol will damage the engines of cars built before 2012. The fact that GMO technology has made it profitable it could be said legitimately that the GMO product is the cause.
If corn wasn’t genetically modified it would be more attractive to foreign markets as a food commodity whereas as a GMCorn it is not wanted inmany foreign markets.

Does California use 1500 gallons of water to grow corn to produce 1 gallon of GMO fuel ethanol? Does California water providers check for ethanol in the supply water for public consumption? Should Gov. Brown request Conversation with EPA about a waiver of the “Wallet Flushing” ethanol mandate so fuel ethanol ozone is in compliance?

  7. Patrick Casey says:

The problem isn’t GMOs as the chemical composition of any chemical is uniform throughout the same molecule. The reason why E15 is bad is because many fuel systems aren’t designed to run high levels of ethanol, GM or non-GM.
