Monsanto’s GM Corn Approved Despite 45,000 Public Comments in Opposition
As previously reported, while people were de-stressing and enjoying their much needed time off during the holidays, the United States Department of Agriculture announced its approval of Monsanto’s ‘drought tolerant’ genetically engineered corn. The decision to give the green light to Monsanto regarding their GM corn didn’t seem too difficult for the Obama Administration, despite receiving nearly 45,000 public comments voicing opposition and only 23 comments in favor since comments opened. Prepare to see this new GM corn unleashed into the environment as well as the American food supply.
Monsanto Continues Expansion of GM Corn and Other GMOs Despite Massive Public Opposition
The news comes after experiments with the seeds were conducted in five African nations, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Monsanto’s drought-resistant GM corn seeds were given to African farmers facing drought conditions, replacing traditional and sustainable farming with Monsanto’s GMO crops. Bill Gates himself has purchased 500,000 Monsanto stocks as of August 2010, and has heavy ties with Monsanto and even genetically modified mosquitoes which could be early next year.
“President Obama and Secretary of Agriculture Vilsack just sent a clear message to the American public that they do not care about our concerns with genetically engineered food and their questionable safety, adverse environmental impacts, and detrimental effects on farmers, especially organic farmers,” says Mark A. Kastel, Senior Farm Policy Analyst with The Cornucopia Institute.
How could Monsanto successfully obtain more power and release new genetically modified seeds when opposition so clearly rises above GE support? Monsanto is not simply a company who sells genetically modified products to those seeking them. This massive corporation is actually very much involved with the passing and proposals of regulations concerning the very GM ingredients they are responsible for.
You may think those helping to pass the GMO bills truly believe that genetically engineering the food supply is beneficial to public health, but the scary truth is that many of said individuals couldn’t care less about humankind or the future of the planet. As far as many government regulators are concerned, Monsanto can expand to the high heavens as long as financial interests are being properly taken care of.

buy organic corn only.
stop buying movie popcorn.
if we all bought organic corn then they will be forced out of business. we have the power. "easy for you to say we cant afford organic" . then i better not see a fat butt saying that. how many ripply believe it or not complain they have no money but they could do with a leaner diet.
eat less, but eat better should be your new year resolution. do this for your kids, for the better of man kind.
I dont eat corn unless its organic and its hard to find so i dont eat corn that much.I do not eat movie theatre popcorn its garbage.I make organic popcorn with organic coconut oil and its delicious.If we shop wisely we can afford to eat organic!
At least at this point none of the popcorn is GMO, I'm sure it's in the works!

Take it a step further… and not just stop buying movie popcorn… be mindful that high fructose CORN syrup is an ingredient in many food products even if it doesn't need to be. This is just one of the reasons why so many American ARE fat and diabetic.
The government will simply require the small organic farmers to be licensed…they will refuse to license them and it will be over….just like the raids on RAW MILK farms and businesses last year….

I don't think it matters if it is organic or not if the seeds are genetically altered. The seeds are genetically altered to resisted disease and drought. You have to look at where your organic farmers get their seeds.
By definition, organic (certified organic, that is) cannot contain anything genetically altered. The problem will start cropping up though (no pun intended) when GM seeds have infiltrated organic crops and it will get to a point where it will be impossible to separate them. For now, anyway, it's a pretty safe bet that to eat organic will be avoiding GMOs.
This travesty should make it plain to everyone. . They do not give a damn about You, your health, or the health of anyone else. . it's all about the money. . how much they get for allowing this garbage and how much the big corporations can make killing us. . How much more simple can you get. .
hello…perhaps it's not really " all about money ". genetically altering the planets eco-system and the earthlings consumption of frankenfoods, along with the chemtrail concoctions, is meant to do more than " make money ". it is our genetic makeup, our dna and rna as humans, that is being attacked. monsanto and blackwater xe teamed together. swat raids on gardners and farmers? breaking the law growing food? humanity is being attacked on many fronts. this is a major one, no doubt.
Monsanto just bought Blackwater… yes, the mercenary group Blackwater known now as XE. Why would they want or need that?

I’m a fan of Hopi blue corn. Grow some, the seeds are easy to get. Real corn has some food value and it doesn’t contain insecticides. Can’t imagine eating insecticides, that doesn’t sound like a good idea.

Wait…In an article where the complaint is that the USDA, the only entity which can prevent Monsanto from releasing this corn, is not stopping them, your oslution is to vote for someone who wants to scrap the USDA and any sort of regulations on corporations entirely?

It's actually not about money, it's about murdering 90% of the world's population. GM foods destroy our health and will cause us to die quickly, which is what these "elite" scumbags want. United Nations Agenda 21 anyone? I don't for one second believe there's seven billion people in the world. With all the wars, abortions, poisoned food, water and air, the population of the planet is probably more like 3-4 billion, if that. China's one child policy has certainly reduced their numbers. They lie, put it on television, and we are stupid enough to believe it. Just wait until the next killer flu is released and they try to force vaccines on us, made of aborted baby cells, heavy metals, viruses, etal. The vaccines are made to kill and maim us as well. Don't believe me? Research squalene oil, a primary ingredient, which causes crippling autoimmune disease and slow death.
Do you realize how many food products contain corn, even where it's not obvious? High fructose corn syrup, made from GM corn, is in almost everything, 90% of soybeans are GM now, just look at the label of any processed food and you'll find soy (non-stick spray, chocolate, salad dressings, etc). Even eating conventional meat we're getting GMOs because factory farm cattle, pigs, chickens are fed GM grain. The only way to 100% avoid any genetically modified food is to eat 100% organic, which is next to impossible for most people. GMOs have infiltrated every single facet of our food system whether we like it or not. Ever since GM crops got the green light in 1996, rates of diabetes, autism, Alzheimer's, and cancer have skyrocketed….coincidence? I think not.
Not to mention all of the IBS, Fibro, ADHD, and other neurological things.

To add….SWEET CORN – which is what corn-on-the-cob and canned corn is – that is intended for the table is NOT genetically modified (at this time). It is commercial corn that is intended to be turned into high fructose corn syrup, animal feed, corn starch, etc. that is GM.
So, go ahead and keep on eating corn-on-the-cob….it's just the rest of your food you have to watch out for.

Not so… Been finding the "Franken corn" at the local Stop and Shop. You know the kind… A big ear of corn with a smaller "Siamese corn twin" attached at the base.
Watch "Food Inc." I believe in that movie they show farmers in Africa educating the local people that as one of the things to be on the lookout for.

Yes, Monsanto owns the Department of Agriculture, the FDA, and apparently the US Congress because they're moving 'full speed ahead' at doing whatever it takes for them to make massive profits on GM food products, despite the rabid opposition of sensible people. They've also managed to squash any requirements for labeling their GMO Frankenfoods because they know that virtually nobody would by that poison consciously. Their mission is to make sure we are all eating their 'food' because it is profitable for them, and all the negative health consequences to follow are not a consideration for them.
And our government's indifference or incompetence in these issues is as destructive as our reaadiness to -send our rough-and-ready forces – legitimate and mercenary – to every corner of the globe where we deem our economic interests to be threatened.
The only way to stop Monsanto is to Nuke the Headquarters and kill all of them , before they kill all of as.
