  3. Do the health benefits of onions occur right after you slice them and release the chemicals? I'm wondering if pre-chopped onions you buy in the grocery store have lost their nutritional value?

    Onions also feed good bacteria in the gut so it acts as a prebiotic to grow the good stuff.

    Every morning I have half a cup raw inions , a clove of garlic , 2 large farm eggs and a teaspoon of Tony Chachere`s creole seasoning fried to perfection in coconut oil.
