  1. Culver’s Root, also known as Bownman’s Root, was named after an 18th century doctor who prescribed it to his patients as a digestive aid.
    Historically Culver’s Root has also been used as a tonic to treat liver and gallbladder disorders and to promote healthy bile flow.
    Culver’s root is a native North American plant that is well established in Native American herbal medicine. In the Southern U.S., it is still used extensively as a tonic for the stomach and a blood purifier and is known as Black Root. Culver’s extract has also been used effectively for diarrhea, chronic constipation, indigestion, sallow complexion and dull frontal headaches
    Burdock Root is one of ingredients of the Essiac Cancer formula.
