  1. When I make my own icecream, I will use fresh berries and raw cream, maybe add some raw honey.

Strawberries are a bladder irrirant and have a normally high radioactive content.

Why would you be looking at an ingredient list when even msg in nearly all foods is hidden under other names, when most prepared foods may have been cooked in toxic aluminium wares etc.

Why not buy fresh and nourish your body, instead of shortening your life for a few minutes of fresh food preparation.

Keep in mind that eating out does not give you the privilege of a food content labels, so there is free use of toxic msg; canola, rapeseed and soy oils; toxic aluminium, poor stainless steel, Black Teflon, microwave damaged foods; excess sodium and added sugar.

I live in Thailand. Most of the above junk is in nearly restaurant food. I just eat at home or select what they cook in front of me. Luckily palm oil is cheap here, but at the restauarnt supply supermarkets its all rapeseed, canola and soy! The locals rarely live beyond 50, so dont imagine there is any magic health formula in Eastern foods.

  2. MSG is an artificial SWEETENER???

    Yow. Completely wrong.

  3. Do enjoy it then, whilst my own family will enjoy real fruit flavourings and juices in our food.

    1. Concerned Chemist says:

What do you think is in the fruits to give them their "real flavourings", rainbows and pixie dust maybe?

Here is something to blow your mind "natural strawberrys" contain over 20 polyphenolic compounds and multiple monophenolics such as p-hydroxybenzoic acid. So what you say they are natural, well p-hydroxybenzoic acid has been shown to be hazardous when ingested and may be harmful to kidneys and liver http://www.sciencelab.com/msds.php?msdsId=9924307.

But guess what that is fine all "chemicals" (including water CAN be harmful) but when present in low quantities such as in flavourings or "natural foods" they are completely harmless, and in some cases beneficial.
For example Thymol (the flavour component of Thyme) is known to be toxic to mucous membranes and may be toxic to kidneys, liver, central nervous system (CNS) http://www.sciencelab.com/msds.php?msdsId=9927623 . But it has also been proven to have many health benefits if used in low dosages http://www.livestrong.com/article/163688-uses-of-… and is a powerful antioxident which can reduce the effect of environmental ageing.

Let me guess, you work in the food or chemical industries? The fact that 50 chemicals are used in place of a simple natural flavouring, simply to save money, will concern most sane people I would imagine. Most of these chemicals are completely alien to the body and have unknown long-term effects. The fact that they often get withdrawn due to safety concerns after years of use demonstrates that profits are always put before human safety. These corporations must love the unpaid guinea pigs who champion their cause so willingly.

  5. Let's include the crushed bugs,

added to make it 'red'. Tasty!

    1. Shellac? There are worse things to eat that alcohol soak bug resin.

  6. The article cited MSG as an artificial sweetner. This is not correct MSG is not an artificial sweetner. Nevertheless, MSG is rightly cited as being a significant health risk.

  7. Amerikagulag says:

It always pays to read the ingredients. As a general rule, I don't buy anything anything with 'diet', 'light', 'lite', 'fat-free' or 'half the calories'. I look for the 100% fruit juice. High Fructose corn syrup is another deadly additive which they've cleverly attempted to re-define as 'corn sugar' but it failed.

Something else you should be concerned about is whether or not this product is 'kosher'. Look for the "U" or other nebulous symbols, to be sure the mythical god is pleased at the manner of slaughter of the strawberries. And also take pride in knowing YOU have paid for that ridiculous status.

98% of the population pay a tax so that 2% can pretend their fictitious god is pleased.

I have just had a really bad six months after a chronic exposure to fabric softeners. I have had two admissions to accident and emergency and have had something like chronic fatigue syndrome for months. My GP refused to blieve that fragrances could be toxic and diagnosed me as psychotic. I am now allergic to fragrances of all sorts plus motor vehicle fumes. My energy levels are returning after weeks of detox including colonic irrigation and gallons of pu-erh tea, but it looks as if the allergies and the resultant migraines are going to be a problem for the rest of my life.

    1. That's unfortunate to hear. I know of a product that could help you with your allergies and migraines. Send me your email and I will send the information over to you..Have a good day

  9. Neither Autolyzed Yeast nor MSG are artificial sweetners. Just sayin'

    1. I was going to point out the same thing. I wanted to share this article, but can't because if one fact is so blatantly wrong, the people I'm trying to convince, that artificial additives are bad, won't believe the rest of it.

Autolyzed Yeast is a form of MSG, which is a flavor inhancer, not artificial sweetener.

  10. Chris Waines says:

Not something you have to worry about too much when you have several hundred strawberry plants growing with fresh suckers sprouting in all directions

  11. This is such a sensationalist “oh my god CHEMICALS” post. Most of the ‘flavor chemicals’ are actually present in the real fruit. This is how they were discovered and why they have fruit odors. These are mimicked in the lab because it is much more economical than extracting it from fruit.

  12. Peter Dean says:

This article is pretty much complete rubbish. The author is totally confused.
