  1. Good article,

I have a question: soda water – is soda water not good or is it because of the additives?

I'm asking because I'm considering buying a soda water maker which works, I think, by injecting CO2 into the water.

I was thinking about experimenting by combining it with fresh made juice (from my juicer).

So the question was, id soda water bad for you? 🙂

      Jack,

I was authorized by Dr. Chappell to release this comment he wrote in reply of your question.

"Injecting CO2 (carbon dioxide) in water is not healthy. CO2 mixed with H2O creates H2CO3 or carbonic acid. This will change the pH of water with a pH of 7 or neutral as far down to 5.5 or acid. Most, if not all, disease requires an acid pH, tissue hypoxia (not enough oxygen), overload of toxins and a suppressed immune system.

To prevent illness, one should always strive to maintain alkalinity. It is interesting to note, when CO2 levels reach just 1 milligram per liter of water, fish will do their best to swim away.

I hope this answers your question."
