  1. I subscribe to Reams' work about treating disease, and his claim to keep urine and saliva pH at 6.4 in order to avoid disease. I've been at or slightly above 6.4 for over three years, and in that time I have not had a cold or flu, ache or pain, and my vision is even improving. I think you're creating an over-alkaline state by shooting for 7.2, and although disease may not manifest for decades from being alkaline like that, it will certainly eventually lead to over-alkalinity and some sort of disease as over-alkalinity causes body processes to slow down and that will eventually be one's downfall as the digestive system eventually becomes burdened.

  2. what is maximum daily amount of taking baking soda to balance alkalice /acid?jamw

  3. I have found that tea made from holy basil (tulsi) leaves works better than anything I have ever used to balance pH to a more neutral level.

  4. I at first thought this was an excellent idea until I pondered more on the question of human homeostasis. We may have an opening into which solids and liquids are put but we are not like a test tube into which alkaline and acid is being mixed. We are a highly evolved chemical factory always aiming to achieve homeostasis. I would like to see proof that eating and drinking to achieve an altered blood alkalinity works because the blood is tuned to operate within a very close range to support life. Think of the wide range of diets human beings live on, from total meat/fat like the Inuit to vegans, if the body did not achieve homeostasis they would have a very short life.

  5. I would like to know how one’s alkaline level is measured? Is a physician required?

One easy and economic way is to use readily available litmus test strips. Also add 1/8 tsp of baking soda, not Arm & Hammer tho, it contains some not good ingredients to the lemon water. A good brand is Red Mill baking soda.

  6. A proper Ph is beneficial for a healthy body.

  7. What is the difference between the acid in your body. They said 7 is normal well I don't get it because it shouldn't be over 6 for acid in your blood. Uric Acid. So are there different acids?

I agree with your advice but have found that the language around this topic needs to be carefully chosen.

See what George is saying up there? I think he's right. When we follow the nutritional advice you give, we are supporting the complex biochemical reactions in our body that serve to stabilize our body's pH. It's more complex than balancing acid in foods with alkaline foods.

  9. Thanks Christina for writing this… as we search for information about alkaline vs acid we discover a lot of naysayers, and that from the scientific community, doctors and dieticians. So thanks again… healthalkaline(dot)com

Look at a map of acid/basic soil and then look at a map of obesity or diabetes. Very high correlation.
