Could Lavender Be the Solution to Drug-Resistant Infections?
Often in life, our biggest problems are those we brought upon ourselves; the same could be said for medical problems. Many of our modern diseases and ailments are completely preventable and only present because we have somehow deprived our bodies of the ability to heal themselves. In that same vein, one of the biggest concerns of the health world is an infection that cannot be stopped, an issue largely due to the overuse of antibiotics. But there are many potential solutions for this issue – lavender is one of those solutions.
Using Lavender for Drug-Resistant Infections
For the medical community, drug-resistant infections like MRSA pose serious challenges. These infections have evolved overtime to be virtually indestructible in the face of modern medicine. They look at modern antibiotics and laugh. So, when faced with these infections, doctors increase the dose, combine different drugs and basically throw everything in their arsenal at the infected person to try and get the problem under control.
What herbalists and naturopaths have known for some time (and emerging research is coming to terms with) is that there are several natural remedies that could provide the ability to kill these infections. That’s where lavender comes in.
Lavender, grown around the world for its pretty purple flowers and unmistakable smell, is known to have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antimicrobial, antifungal, and antispasmodic properties, just to name a few. And a recent study shows that lavender essential oil could be the solution to infections like MRSA.
Researchers with the Faculty of Health and Human Sciences at Thames Valley University found that lavender oils were able to inhibit growth of two different drug-resistant strains of staph, including MRSA. They applied various lavender essential oils directly to the bacteria and found them to be effective.
Other studies have shown it effective in wiping out candida and other yeast infections. When used in aromatherapy, it serves to relax and even relieve headaches. Lavender can reduce scarring and help heal acne, wounds, and blisters.
Like many other powerful plant remedies, lavender has multiple uses, and it does all of this without creating long-term negative side effects. You won’t hear about people getting immune to lavender, experiencing brain bleeds or increased cancer risk from this healing method. No, those sort of effects only come with the band-aid solutions marketed by Big Pharma.

Knowing it may be the solution is promising…knowing how effectively implement the use of lavender would be more helpful. I will definitely research…
Agreed
Knowing what to do is useless without knowing how to do it
aromatherapy massage with lavender essential oil would help as the oil is absorbed through the skin and then into the bloodstream.
How do you take it?
The best thing on the market right now for MRSA is mesosilver, its colloidal silver and you only take 1 TBS. per day and it totally stops all breakouts and heals current ones. I have been battling it for over 20 years and this stuff is a miracle worker.
Does anyone know if this boost's the immune system or works directly on the bacteria, or virus. This is an important question for anyone who takes immune system suppressant drugs to keep one from rejecting a transplanted organ.
