Gagging the Nation: Government and Corporate Trolls on the Internet
I’ve personally been affected by the vitriolic and absurd comments of paid shills on the Internet, as have many individuals trying to report ‘truth’ as they see it. I’ve always suspected there were people being paid by mega-companies like Monsanto to try to defame my words. Now I have proof.
In documents released by Edward Snowden and Glen Greenwald, there is now proof that Western governments have been trying to wreak havoc on the lives of people who dare to expose corporate crimes and government infiltration by Big Biotech, Big Banks, Big Pharma, and the ‘unseen hand’ that is ruining the world.
Not only do they dare to try to limit free speech, but in an attempt to control money and power (and thus people), they also try to defame and discredit anyone who blows the whistle on their insalubrious and greed-driven misdeeds.
Utilizing a UK intelligence outfit known as the Government Communications Headquarters, through a secret unit known as the Joint Threat Research Intelligence Group, paid trolls and shills systematically try to “to control, infiltrate, manipulate, and warp online discourse.”
That means some individuals get a pay check to talk about how great glyphosate and Bt toxins are, and individuals on other sites I’ve personally been to try to discredit me by calling me an ‘idiot yoga teacher.’ Funny how a little digging would evidence that not only am I college educated, but I’ve also taught yoga for over fifteen years, and that this practice deeply informs my knowledge, and interest in natural health.

I used to even argue with these trolls online until I wised up and realized not to engage with them whatsoever. It isn’t just my or any other person’s integrity at stake, though. As Greenwald recently posted, the entire Internet’s authenticity is at stake – much like the MSM:
“By publishing these stories one by one, our NBC reporting highlighted some of the key, discrete revelations: the monitoring of YouTube and Blogger, the targeting of Anonymous with the very same DDoS attacks they accuse “hacktivists” of using, the use of “honey traps” (luring people into compromising situations using sex) and destructive viruses. But, here, I want to focus and elaborate on the overarching point revealed by all of these documents: namely, that these agencies are attempting to control, infiltrate, manipulate, and warp online discourse, and in doing so, are compromising the integrity of the internet itself.”
Luckily, I haven’t been wooed into a honey trap or defamed publicly. So far, I’ve only had to learn to ignore venomous rants below my articles that are obviously meant to obfuscate the sentient points I make. You can’t conceal truth for long though. Many people had a hunch that these trolls were trying to mind-boggle the masses. You’ll find such arguments right here on Natural Society.
Greenwald and Snowden say that these agencies and their work-for-hire contractors are willing to sink to disgusting lows to control public view. They include two primary tactics:
“(1) to inject all sorts of false material onto the internet in order to destroy the reputation of its targets; and (2) to use social sciences and other techniques to manipulate online discourse and activism to generate outcomes it considers desirable. To see how extremist these programs are, just consider the tactics they boast of using to achieve those ends: “false flag operations” (posting material to the internet and falsely attributing it to someone else), fake victim blog posts (pretending to be a victim of the individual whose reputation they want to destroy), and posting “negative information” on various forums.”
Remember this the next time some shill says the economy is recovering or that GMOs are good for us, that pharmaceutical drugs and vaccines don’t cause any harm, or that eating clean food and pristine water won’t help prevent most disease. It’s an information war, and your opinion counts.
This is a great article, and a truthful insight into the information war that continuously goes on around us. We need more people to fight for the truth and to collectively overcome the distortions.

Christina – I encounter many of these folks on the vaccine issue – you provide them with citations and facts and they call you names. I think it is important to point out these fallacies and challenge them to refute your facts. Most of the time, they cannot and either continue calling you names are go quiet.
That said, the websites themselves are also not posting all of our responses in these comment sections, which everyone should also be aware of. At times, I’ve responded a reply three or four times with nothing but cogent and thoughtful comments (almost always with back up to support them), but they often never get approved by the moderator. I’m convinced this is part of the game.
The pro-vaccine shills will use any trick in the book to make it appear that they won the debate, they will never admit something bad about vaccines unless you force them, then they will conclude that there’s still more benefit in vaccination. They will smear any studies you post, tell you that vaccines don’t make any money, post links to studies and put false labels on them, knowing that 90% of people haven’t got time to check. They will deliberately take you out of context to make you look a fool. They love doing huge posts which most working people haven’t got time to reply to, when you do get the time to go through them you realize it was all rubbish and easy to prove wrong, but many people would have looked at the post with all the studies and assumed it was legit.

As much as the shills annoy me, they actually made me up my game, thanks to them I’ve now become an expert at debating vaccines, knowing the topic inside out, no shill can ever beat me, this also translates into real life and has made me very influential on the topic, no parent will vaccinate their kids after they’ve had a 10 minute chat with me.
You rock!!! My family is from outta the country and I can attest that, the generation of my mother and grandmother have their lands, stocks, own grown veggies and what not. Apart from them remaining somewhat isolated from the main stream population, as far as I know, they never submitted to any vaccination and they are AMAZINGLY as strong as horses. No diseases, no traces of serious illness or cancer etc. All women have glowing skins, pinky cheeks, shinning silky long hair, the men are as strong as Oxen, It’s simply amazing. All of them are experts on traditional medicine so doctors are almost never needed or called. The food is right there so they don’t know any such thing as “processed food” or “cured meat”. And I know their longevity is simply out of this era!! My Grand Father from my mother’s side died at age 117 and one of his female cousins died around the same range. No one ever died of any such thing as the numerous diseases that one hears about on the news. Now I am coming to realize that there is something to their method and ways, after witnessing that with all modern medicine we have and technology and what no, we have more cancers than ever, more obesity, more physical weakness etc. than ever.
I agree wit Christina from start t finish. Not long ago, I saw the documentary “Life according to Monsanto”. And on there, a Doctor is featured that did an extensive research on how bad gmo food is for us. Him and other Renown Doctors were viciously persecuted by Monsanto for exposing the truth. He however went after his persecutors. He traced the false article that were supposedly written by “experts” on the internet. And he found out that all of them, ELECTRONICALLY, link to the website of this criminal PR company that was hired by Monsanto to do “damage control”!! with no real expertise no nothing, just their big lying mouths.

People need to educate themselves and learn from websites like Natural Society and other quality sites. They can also use this information when they shop food food and when they need to go to a doctor. Be prepared and educate yourself, so you are not taken for a money ride.

The issue of Vaccines is not ar ethey good or bad. The issue is it is my choice to have them or not. Is the government going to force me to take a vaccine, and make me pay for it, out of pocket or through thef, excuse me, taxes, every time it thinks I need one?
Eating an apple a day is “good for you”. Will we next find an apple on our desk every morning and have to deliver the core to the boss within 15 minutes?
While I’m sure there are paid shills, on both sides, there are also plenty of independent people who question Ms. Sarich’s shrill anti-GMO dogma, and I’m one of them.
Ms. Sarich is clearly trying to maneuver herself into a position in which any time someone disagrees with her, she can scream “Shill!” rather than address the points brought forth. What a cop-out!
I personally believe based on a preponderance of evidence that:

On a topic about 9/11 Ran Paul releasing 28 pages document a person named Seattle Nerd keep going around to those who call out on our ties to the Saudia Arabia by insulting those who want the nation to back off.
It’s like he systematically chooses comments that display the closest truth about the Saudis and then starts childish name calling and yelling without any sources to back himself up.
I have noticed a few things about the shills. They don’t in most cases post on Sunday. They don’t know American history. For example if you talk about the Manhattan Project they don’t know what you are talking about. I believe most of them are from India or Pakistan. I was at first taken in by them because my own family members are incredibly gullible and believe all sorts of ridiculous things. One thing I have found that as the lion made man a better runner. The shill can actually in some cases ask questions than can trigger your finding information that you may have never found otherwise.
