GMO-Loaded Food Corp Targets Natural Foods for Being ‘Unfair Competition’
Perhaps you’ve heard of Unilever? The company sells products under 1,000 brands, including Hellmann’s mayonnaise Suave, Klondike, and TRESemmé. In addition to donating hundreds of thousands of dollars to shut down GMO labeling, the mega-corp has also decided to file a lawsuit against an upstart vegan mayonnaise-making company, claiming “false advertising and unfair competition.”
“At Hellmann’s, we make our mayonnaise with real, simple ingredients like good eggs, delicious vinegar and oils rich in omega 3. So it’s definitely a step in the right direction. Lean about he Real Food Project at hellmanns.com.”
However, if you take a look at this ingredient list and do a little deductive reasoning, you’ll see that they have a reason to be nervous about a company who makes a healthier version of mayo: it’s full of soybean oil (mostly made from GMO soy), non-organic eggs, likely from chickens who are kept in cruel circumstances, and made to eat GMO feed), and vinegar. Heinz was recently targeted for claiming its vinegar was “all natural,” when GMOs are less than natural. Will Unilever, the parent company of Hellmann’s, face similar issues?
The Anglo-Dutch mega-conglomerate Unilever said the vegan company Just Mayo, “. . .already is stealing market share from Hellmann’s.”
Oh, that is a little frustrating isn’t it – when people vote with their dollars and refuse toxic food?
Unilever, which has also swallowed Ben & Jerry’s, Breyer’s, Lipton, Mrs. Filbert’s, Slimfast, Close-Up, Noxzema, Q-Tips, Vaseline, and hundreds of other brands into its multinational guzzler, argues that:
“Hampton Creek’s materially false and misleading Just Mayo name, packaging, and advertising has caused and unless restrained will continue to cause great and irreparable injury to Unilever.”

Unilever is seeking to reverse the new-found success that Hampton Creek is experiencing with their new mayo product. The company wants Hampton Creek to “remove all jars from shelves, and pay Unilever three times damages, plus attorney’s fees.” Hampton Creek is also being told to start calling their mayo something else because it, “damages the entire product category, which has strived for decades for a consistent definition of ‘mayonnaise’ that fits with consumer expectations.”
The FDA, Unilever points out, defines mayonnaise as including an “egg-yolk containing ingredient.”
Now Hampton Creek has had to prepare a countersuit, partly to determine ‘what makes mayo mayo.”
Part of the legal tussle may have instigated because Hampton Creek posted on Facebook that it was “Beating Hellmann’s in taste tests,” and also posted a cartoon of a jar of Just Mayo with boxing gloves standing over a KOed jar of Hellmann’s and being declared “The Winner!”
Unilever was not happy. “Hampton Creek’s superiority claims are false because they are not supported by reliable testing that reflects actual consumer preferences.”
It’s easy to control the market as a mega-corporation with deep pockets.
Continue to use your dollar power and ask your local food store to carry Hampton Creek products !
LOL! Don’t like competition much, do they? Well, too bad. They, and many other companies like Kraft and General Mills, are going to just have to deal with the fact that more people are starting to refuse their products and are going with smaller companies that are making better foods.

Boo-hoo. ROFLMAO! Get over it, Unilever. If you don’t like the competition, come out with your own organic and healthy version of mayonnaise.
I was shopping at my local health-food store tonight and saw, for the first time, this “Just Mayo” for sale. I normally make my own mayo when I need some but I decided to buy a jar just to stick it to Unilever. Lol. I don’t usually like to buy things with canola oil in it (especially when it’s the first ingredient, like with the Just Mayo), but the product has the Non-GMO Project seal, so I felt comfortable buying it. After all, it’s hard to make a neutral-tasting mayo using the good-for-you oils like EVOO and coconut oil.
BlackRock is the largest Institutional shareholder of Bayer. Bayer owns Monsanto who is the creator of the GMO grains. Unilever, Kraft, and General Mills are all owned by the same two Institutional Investment firms named BlackRock and Vanguard Group. If you really want your mind blown, look up who owns BlackRock and Vanguard Group. I’ll give you a hint…they are the major shareholders in each others company. The two are the largest investment share holders in all banks, and vaccine manufacturers too if you were wondering.
We get our Just Mayo at Walmart! Clearly labeled ‘NON GMO’, and at a competetive price, its space on the shelf, next to Hellman’s and other mayos, is often empty! Excuse me, I must rush out and buy a few more jars of Just Mayo before ‘they’ get it pulled! AGH! Makes me so mad!
Unilever is a scumbag company and pure hypocrites. They have been busted throughout the globe for misrepresenting their labels constantly and poisoning people. On top of that they torture and kill animals, like mice and rabbits, to test their stupid food ideologies which make no sense. Most people in this company responsible for labeling and food testing should be arrested and put in jail.
Unilever is a cancer.
Boycott Unilever.
There was a jar of Hellmann’s mayonnaise in the fridge a few minutes ago. It now resides in the trashcan. Never again will I purchase Hellmanns! …..and this personally hurts……but sacrifices must be made…….no more Klondike bars or Cherry Garcia (Ben and Jerry’s).
My search for Hampton Creek mayo begins tomorrow.
Good to hear!
……. now listen to Joyce Riley on the Power Hour…..streaming audio 24 hour per day….. great source for natural health and news the networks refuse to report.

I buy organic soybeans grown in Canada. I make soy-milk, tofu, my own version of mayo. I know there are those that claim that soy products in any form are harmful for human consumption. My health has improved many magnitudes since I started this. I also grow sprouts of many kinds, and I have eliminated wheat all together.
Wheat is another story in itself. All I can say is “to each, their own”. Do what you feel is best for yourself. If you do not like a product, then create your own. I don’t care if you are a carnivore and eat a whole side of beef a week.
Grass fed beef is still far better than eating a PETA MEMBER. PETA MEMBERS are tough, tasteless, and stringy. (So I have been told).Their brains are so small that you need a dozen to make a decent pan of scrambled eggs and brains,
I simple feel That All GMO,s food should be ban and I thank all of us for exposing thee truth of this scam , which is poisoning millions of people causing disease’s and death as a result , we can no longer trust the federal government or corporations or even major markets , who prefer to sell cheaper produces made with GMO’s
we must call for a revolution in our republic please join MassVocals @Comcast.net in open discussion soon web site
Companies like Unilever complain about government interference limiting the “free market” but then they use the legal system to crush competition. What hypocrites.
Ingredients of Just Mayo: Non-GMO canola oil (it is NOT organic, therefore still contaminated with pesticides; white vinegar (Not organic either, and from what? GMO corn, or highly pesticide-laden apples?) Modified food starch and EDTA-really?? No thanks! I wouldn’t eat this any more than Unilever’s stuff!
