I read through the study, and to be fair they didn’t “concentrate on glyphosate and 2-4D”; they listed over two dozen different pesticides that people were exposed to over a period of time. I don’t advocate the use of either of those pesticides, but we shouldn’t single them out in a study that included “complex mixtures of pesticides”. Clearly, the harm is pretty much in all chemical pesticides.

On top of that 80% of the workers did not use PPE, and the authors speculated that those who did didn’t use it properly–meaning this is likely telling us more about bathing in a complex mixture of pesticides daily, than eating produce containing residuals.

Yes, but at any rate, I choose to not ingest food that has pesticide residue on or in it. It’s unavoidable sometimes (eating out at the majority of restaurants), but I work very hard to eliminate conventional foods in my home. The way I see it, the more organic foods I buy, the less workers have to be exposed to toxins. So it’s not just for me, but rather for everyone.

That’s great, of course. I tend to avoid the “dirty” produce and favor organic whenever possible (I’m a big fan of the organic movement for their attitude toward animal care and land management even without pesticide to be concerned about).
I’m primarily weighing in since this article is being circulated as a glyphosate/Monsanto is evil piece–and seeing science misrepresented for that purpose irks me.
