pesticidesrelease 263x164 Glyphosate Found to Fuel Cancer Cell Growth, Pose Carcinogenic ThreatA groundbreaking new study has found that the active ingredient in Monsanto’s best-selling herbicide Roundup is responsible for fueling breast cancer by increasing the number of breast cancer cells through cell growth and cell division. The effects are so potent, in fact, that the cancer cell proliferation is driven even when we’re talking about Roundup in the parts-per-trillion (PPT) range.

The study, which is to be published in the journal Food and Chemical Toxicology, focused on glyphosate, the main chemical ingredient within the most widely used herbicide today – Monsanto’s Roundup. After comparing how hormone-dependent and hormone-independent breast cancer cell lines were affected by glyphosate, the researchers found that glyphosate fuels cancer cell lines that are hormone dependent.

“…In summary, we found that glyphosate exhibited a weaker estrogenic activity than estradiol. Furthermore, this study demonstrated the additive estrogenic effects of glyphosate and genistein which implied that the use of glyphosate-contaminated soybean products as dietary supplements may pose a risk of breast cancer because of their potential additive estrogenicity.”

Additionally, the researchers concluded that due to glyphosate’s estrogenic properties, the chemical is likely considered what is known as a “xenoestrogen“. As NaturalSociety has covered before, xenoestrogen is foreign estrogen which mimics real estrogen in our bodies. This type of xenohormone can cause numerous problems, including increased risk of various cancers, infertility, thyroid issues, early onset puberty, and more.

“This finding should raise concern about the existence of more than one xenoestrogen such as phytoestrogen and contaminants in plant derived food which may be beneficial or harmful depending on the hormonal and pathological status of consumers. This study implied that the additive effect of glyphosate and genistein in postmenopausal woman may induce cancer cell growth.”

But of course this is far from the only nasty effect Roundup has on the human body. Scientists have found in some research that Monsanto’s best-selling herbicide Roundup causes toxicity to human cells, and actually kills human kidney cells at low doses.

What’s more, other researchers testing Roundup on rats found that within 1 to 48 hours of exposure, testicular cells of the mature rats were either damaged or killed. The study is yet another reminder that ingredients used in pesticides and herbicides have detrimental effects on the human body and should be avoided whenever at all possible. We need to raise awareness on how Monsanto’s chemical creations and herbicides at large are poisoning the mass population.

Then do NOT vote for Roy Blunt or Claire McCaskill or Billy Long in Missouri. They are protecting their donors’ interests and do not care what their constituents demand. It’s all about the money.

Call them and tell them you demand GMO labeling: Billy Long- 417-889-1800; Roy Blunt- 417-877-7814; Claire McCaskill – 417-868-8745.

Monsanto is a bio-weapons corp. They are funded by criminal elitist. The herbicides (especially glyphosate) stops enzymes in fruits and vegetables from removing cancer (a fungus) from our cells. Understand this is a eugenics agenda. This is their soft kill approach. All has been planned. Under operation paperclip, where do you think the Nazi scientist where placed?

The airports, hydro lines, railway tracks, golf courses, etc. use Roundup to kill the weeds – this all goes into the acquifer – which affects us all.
In Canada, with the prime minister's hate of all things scientific, our environmental controls are so useless that when citizens complain about the use of Roundup, it goes into the 'spam' bin never to be noticed at all.

Many companies other than Monsanto produce glyphosate. Will someone please tell me a safer herbicide than glyphosate for a large scale agricultural operation.

    • geoff

      Re 'safer herbicide'
Look into whats called 'biological farming',,,, there's hundreds once you catch on.- in many countries.
The problem is not lack of herbicide. Its the farm system
There is a MUCH better and safer one for soil, plants, animals and humans than the 'western' agric model.
After a transition time to introduce the new system farmers make much more money ( sorry -but big chemical companies don't), food becomes more 'nutrient dense' ( more vitamins, minerals, phenols etc etc etc to keep us healthy and it tastes so much better then factory food production
There is a large body of science behind this. There are some briliant advisors. It can be better than the 'shut the gate and hope approach of organic land management'

The Genistein mentioned in the article is the main ingredient in "icool" a menopause supplement said to relieve hot flashes and night sweats. Main selling point is "no soy"

I am really looking forward to more people waking up and destroying this company and exposing the evil parasites behind it…

Who got sick from soy products 20 years ago? No one I knew…. Today, soy allergies and intolerances are skyrocketing for both kids, adults and all kinds of animals. What has changed in the last 20 years? Well, try the genetic manipulation of soybeans by splicing WEED KILLER into this plant's DNA.

Natural soy is known to mimic estrogen in the female body. So, imagine what GMO soy does in the female endocrine system now! Why are so many young girls in their teens, 20s and 30s getting breast cancer all of a sudden? Breast cancer for a young girl was way, way rare when I was growing up.

If RoundUp is so safe for humans and animals, then I ask you to pour this liquid into a chilled shot glass, and drink it. Prove to the world that this concoction is safe. You won't. No one will, not even the Monsantobots.

If Monsanto's GMO seeds and their Roundup® brand glyphosate can be proven to have caused anyone any harm, then why has no one taken them to court? No need to wait for the FDA to take action.

      • Geoff

        Hi Eliot ,
You obviously do not know the court process, nor the tentacles and influence of this company. Learn to understand the 'spin' and the narratives of companies such as this. Also the supporting scientists and politicians. Trace the money trial, who benefits from this.

Many women fell for the big marketing PUSH, some years ago, for "soy" based products in foods and health/beauty products, because it was said that "Asian women did not have breast cancer like Western women, and this was attributed to the supposed fact that Asian women ate more soy, and no dairy."

Natural soy. Non-GMO'd soy, that is…..

So, Western women began a vegetarian soy consumption & tofu craze that later backfired on them, thanks to Roundup Ready soy and breast cancer. Soy was suddenly everywhere: in foods, shampoos, body lotions, facial creams, makeup products, and soaps. Soy milk was promoted as "safer" than cow milk or other dairy products. Soy broth is now found in cans of most water-packed TUNA FISH! Soybean oil is in almost all processed & frozen foods. Restaurants use soy oil because it is super cheap, and they can mix it with olive oil to save money.

    • Martina Schaefer

From my reseach the Asian countries do not consume soy as much as the way the USA does. FERMENTED soy is the better way….Fermenting foods is actually good for us…as in every case, too much of one thing is not a good thing. Variety!
