Approximately 13 million acres of illegal GM corn have been planted in the US. Another 88% of all corn crops grown in the US are currently genetically modified. Even without being slathered in Roundup chemicals, these crops are killing us, and there is new evidence explaining why.

Professor Gilles-Éric Séralini is perhaps best known for his controversial study on rats that developed tumors after consuming genetically engineered food. The study was retracted from a prominent scientific journal, and then later reinstated.

In a recent interview, Séralini explains that GM corn is made with some interesting ‘side effects’ for human beings that have nothing to do with crops being sprayed with toxic Roundup chemicals (the top selling herbicide in the US).

That’s right, Roundup is carcinogenic in its own right, as the World Health Organization has recently stated. But GMO corn is produced with an enzyme within it which makes it tolerant to Roundup, and this enzyme indirectly decreases the levels of important amino acids that the liver and kidneys need for proper functioning.

Séralini says:

“GMOs make animals seriously ill.”

Without meaning to directly corroborate Séralini’s findings, Dr. Renae Norton, an eating disorder specialist with over 30 years of experience, was interviewed on blogtalkradio. She remarked that she has never seen so many people in their early 20’s dealing with kidney and liver disease in her entire career.

Is this a coincidence?

Here we have both a prominent scientist and a psychiatrist with a specialty in eating disorders telling us that GMOs are causing people serious harm, and yet we aren’t supposed to know if our food contains GM ingredients? The vast majority of Americans who want GMO labeling will not be happy to hear about this.

If you haven’t heard the latest, Mike Pompeo is trying to pass a bill through Congress that would take away even states rights to demand GMO labeling, making it nearly impossible for you to know if cancer-causing, liver and kidney disturbing food is being served to you in a restaurant or distributed through grocery store chains.
