You really have to be a defensive consumer these days! Just because big businesses' scientists discovered some new trick doesn't mean they have to rush off and introduce it to every product they can weave it, whatever the "discovery" of the month is, into. I'm the daughter of a chemist who worked in the field of NMR before there was MRI. He is exceedingly cautious. He knows well that because a substance doesn't cause you to drop dead on the spot (there are plenty of those too!) doesn't mean there aren't long term effects..and serious ones!

You practically have to be a chemist to keep up with the latest nonsense unleashed upon the unwitting public in the name of making a buck. It's just a mad scramble to sell us stuff we don't need before the next manufacturer does. When I think of how relatively few mindless, unneeded products our grandparents bought, compared to we today, I feel very preyed upon by advertising, and by our government that stands back and does far too little regulating of what isn't proven safe.

  2. Is there the same problem with taking colloidal silver that is made into nano-particle size?

It would seem to me that it has more to do with what the nano-particle is made of.
