Natural Society Launches Petition: Don’t Let the USDA Ruin GMO Labeling!
The USDA has officially announced that it will soon be rolling out their new ‘Non-GMO labels’ worldwide. This is an organization that has admittedly given Monsanto ‘fast track approval‘ with less safety testing for their latest GMO crops. Now is the time to hold the USDA accountable for their Non-GMO labels, and to demand that the agency recruits the help of independent scientific agencies to verify the accuracy of these labels.
We have officially launched an accountability petition to hold the USDA responsible for independently verifying their certifications to ensure that we are not allowing for the agency to ‘sneak past’ GMO-contaminated foods labeled as ‘GMO free.’
Sign the petition to protect the food supply below:
In the past, the FDA and USDA have made various ‘exceptions’ for GMO-containing products to be considered ‘GMO free’ when they contain GMO contaminants, and we refuse to allow this to happen again. As we told you when it happened, the USDA has even been caught giving Monsanto’s GMOs ‘speedy approval’ and circumventing the safety approval process. This is not an organization we can fully trust with certifying our food as GMO free. Let’s hold them accountable and demand they do not take sides with Monsanto!
Screw labels and just ban them!

Signed!!
USDA, FDA, … all look like nails to me, and very rusty ones at that. If my petition-signing hammer does not suffice, then retorting to other means will have to be looked into. Of course, non-convemtional, but legal ones.
Just signed. I don’t trust the USDA. NS thanks
Not a big fan of losing food security in this country. Growing biofuels, soy and NOT real food in most of the country it seems, or at least in the midwest cornfields. It would be great if we could have a ton of hydroponic systems for veggies, fish, fruits, etc., one in every neighborhood. Like how we used to have neighborhood grocery stores, time for neighborhood greenhouses:) The health of Americans is tragic and what is worse is the inefficiency and waste in they system. Get this, I can go into my Dr for B12 shots b/c I have a true deficiency, and the insurance gets billed $150/shot. I used to do them myself at home when it costed $1.50/mo, about 2yrs ago it went up to $19/mo and that’s too much for me. So, Medicare will pay $150 for one shot when I could do it at home for $19, but I am not going to pay out of pocket and they won’t cover it!!! That’s the system for ya and explains why we spend so much on health care in this country. People are so unhealthy it’s a national security risk, so they say. Time to ditch the fast food and sugar people.
Support your local farmers and if possible try to get into a co-op where you can get locally grown true organic veggies. Farmers have been a target for far too long and people should support the small family farms. The big biofuel subsidized farmers aren’t really “feeding the world” as they would have people believe. Unless the mean indirectly in some roundabout way.
