  1. You forgot to mention flossing…! I think it’s a fundamental remedy and preventive measure.

    1. blank Rayelle Bishop says:

Flossing always made my gums worse and bleed and swollen. I can’t get the floss in the back of my mouth. I just use the floss to get food out if I feel it. But not as a regular bass.

  2. My gum pockets have been a 2 or worse for many years. I started inhaling a 3.5% food grade hydrogen peroxide mist for my lungs (COPD) a few months ago. I was as surprised as my dentist when I had my teeth cleaned, my gum pockets were upgraded to 1 for the first time in 30 years or so. The only difference that could have caused this change is the peroxide.

Hydrogen Peroxide diluted and used daily in a Water Pick will clear up just about anything. Keep yourself at or above 4 grams of vitamin C per day as well.

    2. blank Elizabeth Conley says:

I agree about the hydrogen peroxide. I switched to a hydrogen peroxide mouthwash about 5 months ago. It is the most effective mouthwash I have ever used.

      1. blank Liberty4ev says:

If you have silver amalgam fillings, please research using hydrogen peroxide as a mouthwash. I have been using it for several years with great results…until I started getting a strange metallic taste in my mouth. Researched what might cause that and found that H2O2 can release mercury vapors from silver amalgam fillings, which I have. So I’ve given it up until I can afford to get those fillings removed, just in case.

    1. Add lipo-spheric vitamin c to your diet ASAP. It’ll cost about a dollar a day. Do it anyway. Gingivitis is potentially a very serious infection. You need to be very serious about shutting it down.
    2. Use a water pick every night.
These two things will make a big difference.

  4. blank Eric Rowland says:

When I was stationed in Germany in the sixties, I developed gingivitis. My gums shrank and turned white, in addition to bleeding. My bad breath was unbelievable. I reported sick and the camp MO informed me that all my teeth would have to be extracted. When I told the landlady at my billet, she advised me to purchase a brand of toothpaste which contained Kastanien (horse chestnut) extract. It worked. I am now 80 and still have most of my teeth. Sadly, I don’t think this brand is now available, possibly banned, as were iodine and melatonin, by the EU (I am in the UK) Brussels appears to be preventing the sale of natural remedies throughout Europe.

    1. How quickly did it help?

      Thanks.

      1. blank Eric Rowland says:

It’s over 40 years ago, now, but it didn’t take too long. Sorry I can’t be more explicit. All I can say is that it was a success.

        1. I just brought some of that stuff recently and waiting for it to be shipped to me.

scary how half the population anywhere in their lifetime can get it!

I’ve tried so many things to cure this. i really hope this works outs. I’ve had this for about 12 – 13 years now!

          1. blank Eric Rowland says:

You have my sympathy. It’s not a pleasant affliction. Please let me know how you progress with it. I would be interested to know.

          2. I will. And I’ve tried Colloidal Silver to no success

Try a change in diet–eliminate as much sugar as possible and lower your carb intake–a paleo/primal diet. That helped me quite a bit. I learned the information from marksdailyapple (dot) com.

I also make my own toothpaste with extra virgin organic coconut oil, baking soda, peppermint and clove essential oils, and I use a sonicare toothbrush. This has helped heal the pockets where all the junk collects and erodes my gums. It’s not immediate, but it seems to work for me.

          4. I noticed when i eat chocolate etc it gets worse 🙁

          5. blank Liberty4ev says:

Yes, unfortunately, I did as well. I could eat chocolate all day, every day! I switched to dark chocolate with much lower sugar content, and it has helped.

  5. biodent as well as fermented skate fish liver oil… heals teeth

I have garlic and turmeric paste at hand just in case I need them! I’m trying to teach my daughter the importance of brushing to make sure her gums stay in good health. We’re going to take her in to get her teeth checked soon so we will see if the turmeric and garlic will be needed.

  7. how do we make the garlic and tumeric paste? The article wasn’t very thorough in explaining, should it be raw, or cooked? Thanks!

    1. blank Dino Hingorani says:

Garlic and ‘Turmeric Powder’ must be used raw obviously mate.

  8. Also what do we do with the mustard oil? Do we gargle, like the oil pulling? And if so, for how long?

  9. The use of natural herbal remedies which use essential oils in treating periodontal disease is popular in alternative medicine circles and works very well.
Natural Herbal Gum Disease Remedy (from Kerstin’s Nature Products) is a powerful combination of sweet almond oil and some of the finest essential plant oils, designed specifically to maximize tooth and gum health.
It can be applied directly or diluted with some olive oil to the gums or toothache or you can add a drop or two of the remedy on your toothbrush on top of the toothpaste before brushing. This will help inflamed and irritated gums and prevent gum disease. You also can put one or two drops to a cotton ball and dab your gums.
