5 Foods to Naturally Cleanse Your Colon
It is becoming more well known that the average diet coupled with exposure to countless daily toxins is wreaking havoc on our internal systems. One internal system especially compromised is the gastrointestinal system, with the colon and intestines suffering greatly. Reducing exposure to toxins like smoke, fluoride, pesticides, mold, and chemicals found in cosmetics can help boost the health of your internal systems, but don’t forget about the many dietary solutions you can also implement. Here are 5 foods to cleanse your colon naturally.
1. Dates
Fiber is essential for promoting colon health and making for regular bowel movements. The insoluble and soluble fiber found in dates help to clean out the gastrointestinal system, allowing the colon to work at greater levels of efficiency. Some other benefits relating to fiber and colon health are reduced risks of colon cancer and hemorrhoids. Be careful not to have too many, as dates are very high in sugar. (Here are some other health benefits of dates).
2. Apple Cider Vinegar, Apples
There is a reason many colon-cleansing programs involve apples, apple juice, or apple cider vinegar. Apples are not only rich in fiber, which we know promotes digestive health, they also contain pectin – a compound acting acts as a thickening agent inside the gut. Pectin helps to slow glucose absorption, and has been shown to help prevent colon cancer.
3. A Quality Colon Cleansing Product
Given the stress we put on our internal systems daily, it is important to perform cleanses throughout the year. There are many colon-cleansing products available on the market; you could simply Google it and find one that you like.
But one trusted colon cleansing product you should consider is Oxypowder from Dr. Edward Group. It’s a great colon cleanser taken on its own, but it can also be utilized while performing a higher-intense 6-day cleansing protocol for greater results.
While it isn’t a food, it’s still something you should know about.
4. Green Fruit and Vegetables Rich in Chlorophyll
Green fruits and vegetables rich in chlorophyll, such as Brussels sprouts, collard greens, Swiss chard, and celery are great for promoting digestive health and helping to detoxify your body overall. In addition to consuming these vegetables, you cold also supplement with liquid chlorophyll.
“Fat-soluble chlorophyll adheres to the lining of the intestinal wall and retards bacterial growth, removes putrifactive bacteria from the colon, and helps heal the mucosal lining of the gastrointestinal tract.” – From the book The Enzyme Cure: How Plant Enzymes Can Help You Relieve 36 Health Problems
5. Avocados
Like dates, avocados are full of digestive health-promoting fiber. Further, the fruit contains both soluble and insoluble fiber in a unique ratio of about 1 to 3. While the soluble fiber helps to normalize blood sugar and reduce cholesterol, the insoluble fiber is working to “clean you out” and prevent constipation. Both types are important for boosting overall digestive health.
Hello Mike,
I would like to add yogurt which contains probiotics. Probiotics help to restore the balance of good bacteria.
VERY HELPFUL READING , INDEED !
I was somewhat hesitant about ordering your product, especially because I had just finished a another brand of colon cleanser and the results were mediocre at best but I still felt like I needed to cleanse because I just felt tired all the time, with a bloated feeling and my abdomen looked swollen.
It’s a pity you don’t have a donate button! I’d certainly donate! I guess for now I’ll settle for book-marking and adding your RSS feed. I look forward to brand new updates and will share on Facebook.
