Angelina Jolie: Decision to Self Mutilate Sends Terrible Message to Women
Natural Society has already produced an excellent article by Anthony Gucciardi regarding Angelina’s Jolie’s decision to have her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed based on her doctor’s assertion that she presents a risk for ovarian cancer. Therefore, this commentary will address a different perspective on this truly tragic saga.
Ms. Jolie’s decision is important primarily because the Mainstream Media (MSM) has given her a special platform with which to tell her story. Her story could be any woman’s story except that Ms. Jolie is frequently used as a mouthpiece by the American Surgery Association.
Angelina Jolie’s last initiative at self mutilation was a case of unjustified breast removal. She was given a special page in the New York Times to offer her obviously (and scientifically) incorrect justification to the entire world.
It is within this context that it ought to be understood that Ms. Jolie has now proven herself to be — UNEQUIVOCALLY — nothing more than a practitioner of flagrant self mutilation. Such a decision to remove all of her female organs for the fear-mongering of her physician(s) must be properly assessed in light of her psychological condition — Carcinophobia.
Carcinophobia can Become a Serious Mental Disease and/or Psychiatric Condition
Given her last two visits to the surgery center it is now clear that Angelina Jolie may suffer from Carcinophobia. Carcinophobia can be a terribly debilitating mental disease which compels both women and men to make extremely self-destructive decisions about their body when facing there mere possibility of cancer.
“Carcinophobia (or the fear of cancer) is an unpleasant and very real phobia afflicting people (or even friends and relatives of people) who have been diagnosed with the deadly disease.”
The fear of cancer can be so strong that even those friends and family of the cancer-afflicted can develop Carcinophobia. The cancer victim can project their fears and anxieties so strongly that everyone they interact with becomes affected, to varying degrees, by the onslaught of negative emotions and thoughts.
The medical establishment, particularly the specialties of oncology and surgery, have contributed considerably to this unwholesome state of affairs. In their zeal to surgically operate, even when it is totally unnecessary, many surgeons reflexively use scare tactics. They, more than anyone else in the cancer diagnosis process, are in the position to mitigate the fears associated with cancer risk factors or exacerbate them. Unfortunately, many surgeons do the latter.
The real problem with this ever-worsening predicament is that it works so well … for the physicians. The patients are then left with scars and scar tissue, fewer organs and a compromised endocrine system for the rest of their lives. Apparently the doctors forget to tell the women that the breasts and ovaries and uterus do more than just help make babies. They also participate in the complex workings of the endocrine system which plays an integral part in the post menopause stage of life as well.
What are Some of the Symptoms of Carcinophobia?
There are many symptoms which have been identified for those suffering from Carcinophobia. They can vary from person to person in both number and severity. Some folks may experience all of the following symptoms; some may only experience one or two. The key issue is to recognize if they are present so that the proper treatment can be considered. The list below has been provided by Cancer-Treatment-Tips.com.
Symptoms of Carcinophobia (Fear of Cancer)
“Some of the symptoms may include the following but not necessary limited to these:
• Excessive, unexplained sweating
• Feeling nauseous continuously
• Dizziness or uncontrollable shaking
• Extreme anxieties
• Panic attacks
• Dry mouth
• Involuntary urine leakage or incontinence
• Heart palpitation or pounding heart rate
• Shortness of breath
• Numbness or tingling sensations
• Feeling of being trapped”
One of the primary reasons for not permitting Carcinophobia to develop into a serious condition is to prevent such a disastrous decision process similar to Angelina Jolie’s. Clearly, were she to have objectively evaluated her situation with reason and attention to real science she would have taken a radically different approach.
Likewise, if she had considered the many environmental factors which influence ovarian cancer, she would have quickly understood that her lifestyle has a lot more to do with outcomes than the medical profession usually admits. Her commitment to a squeaky clean diet and lifestyle are enough to significantly move her risk factors quickly in the right direction … and keep them there.
Instead of having confidence in herself and her support system, she chose the worst form of female self mutilation.
That emphatically sends the wrong message to her family and friends, her co-workers and fans, as well as to the world-at-large.
Hence, I was compelled to write this exposé on Carcinophobia with the hope that other women — young and old — will come across it on the internet. Otherwise they may be overwhelmed by so much positive reinforcement which the MSM always seems to offer gratuitously to the self mutilation crowd.

I think there are far more egregious issues at stake than a phobia. Big Pharma stands to cash in on all of the gullible women who insist on mutilating themselves rather than look at, and practice, health habits to bolster their immune systems. Looking at the hundreds of comments lauding Angelina Jolie as a hero on the New York Times is so disturbing. These women already feel powerless and feel their only solution is mutilation.
yes it is.
From Harrington’s article, here is the list of some of the included symptoms. Among those symptoms are symptoms of electromagnetic sensitivity (EMF). EMF is a sensitivity to electromagnetic radio frequencies bombarding the air and the life of all living things. Science will not confirm EMS exists but I’m here to say it does because I have become sensitized to electromagnetic frequencies and it’s a living hell.
This is Harrington’s list:
“Some of the symptoms may include the following but not necessary limited to these:
• Excessive, unexplained sweating
• Feeling nauseous continuously*
• Dizziness or uncontrollable shaking*
• Extreme anxieties*
• Panic attacks*
• Dry mouth*
• Involuntary urine leakage or incontinence
• Heart palpitation or pounding heart rate*
• Shortness of breath*
• Numbness or tingling sensations*
• Feeling of being trapped”
*Those items with an asterisk are symptoms I have experienced with EMS.
The feeling of nauseous for is not continuous.
I have dizziness at time.
Not actually panic attacks but panic in the sense that I can’t get away from the horrible sensations.
Dry mouth on occasion.
Heart palpitation or pounding heart rate, so bad at times I’m afraid it won’t stop.
I have shortness of breath at times.
I have numbness and terrible tingling sensations. The tingling actually feels like how a paper cut feels. So I don’t really call it tingling. And more often I get electrical shock sensations plus other sensations.
I’ll only say I may feel trapped because there’s no place to go when the sensations start. Sometimes the symptoms go on for days.
This is a partial list of Electromagnetic Sensitivity symptoms:
sperm damage & male infertility
miscarriages
vaginal discharge*
vascular system disease
tinnitus*
childhood cancer
sleep problems*
depression
irritability*
memory loss*
concentration difficulties*
headaches* (more than an ache, it’s quite painful)
dizziness and fatigue*
suicidal tendencies* (only because it seems hopeless)
arrhythmia*
heart attacks
bone marrow interference
altered calcium level in cells
ADHD
reduction in night-time melatonin*
suppression of the immune system*
arthritis
rheumatism
skin symptoms*
lymphatic diseases
autism
hearing problems*
*Symptoms I’ve experienced.
I’ve read there are millions of people with electromagnetic sensitivity and I simply do not understand why the medical profession will not accept that it exists and science will not confirm it exists. Of course, I’m not a doctor nor am I a scientist but I know what’s happening to me is real and it’s horrible, more than horrible at times.
I understand this comment is off topic from the article but seemed like a good place to share. As I read through Harrington’s list I was thinking, “what if someone is experiencing some of the symptoms and they won’t be told it could be Electromagnetic Sensitivity.
I experience a lot of these myself. The tinnitus drives me nuts.
There are a lot of websites you can check out and maybe learn some techniques to help you if you feel you may have acquired EMS.
I had been experiencing my symptoms 8 years before I found out what it was and it’s really horrible at times.
Again, I’m not a doctor nor a scientist but I know EMS exists because I’m living with it.
Good luck, Abe!
which is it ems or emf
EMS is electromagnetic sensitivity and EMF is electromagnetic frequencies. So EMF is the cause and EMS is the effect.
Hope that helps or check it out on Google!
Brads one lucky guy. For God sakes don’t do a life style change, just mutilate yourselves.
None of you have clue about brca
at one time I would agree that AJ has gone overboard. Not anymore. My mother died of ovarian cancer. She never made it out of the hospital after her operation that I guarantee was only conducted for the money as she had no chance. This was one of the scariest most awful horrible things to watch someone you love go through. They cut her top to bottom and front to back. She suicided herself after they put her on breathing machine about a week later when they said she’d never get off. She set it up behind our backs. We didn’t know. The hospital sure did however. At her cue they shot her full of something and she was alive about 2 minutes after that.
I believe they actually h ave the cure for cancer but don’t want to give it to us because it brings more money than we’ll ever be allowed to know. Probably trillions a week overall. If we do ever get the proof which we pretty much have that those in charge had a cure and didn’t allow us to have it, I hope the people of the world rip these bastards limb from limb.
I wouldn’t care if I had a “90%” chance of cancer–I would have held onto my organs & taken the chance. In my view. I think Angelina should have more confidence in her own immune system and perhaps Faith in a higher power. She’s in the top .001% in terms of finances, talent, beauty, fame, & celebrity intelligence and she seems to have found Love & a good family life. I think the “odds” would have worked in her favor, as much as anything!!..She should know that a lot cancer cases are born of stress, toxins, bad nutrition, poor medical care, poor environment, lack of social support, etc. And often cancer is completely curable!!-
At the same time, you can’t discount the impact of losing your Mother, aunts, grandmother & others in your family to a genetic pre-disposition. 🙁 That personal loss can outweigh logic!~
