List of Foods We Will Lose if We Don’t Save the Bees

bee pollinatingMany pesticides have been found to cause grave danger to our bees, and with the recent colony collapses in Oregon, it’s time to take a hard look at what we would be missing without bee pollination.

In just the last ten years, over 40% of the bee colonies in the US have suffered Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD). Bees either become so disoriented they can’t find their way back to their hives and die away from home, or fly back poison-drunk and die at the foot of their queen. There are many arguments as to what is causing CCD, but the most logical and likely culprit is the increased usage of pesticides by the likes of Monsanto and others.

A study by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has labeled one pesticide, called clothianidin, as completely unacceptable for use, and banned it from use entirely. Meanwhile, the U.S. uses the same pesticide on more than a third of its crops – nearly 143 million acres. Two more pesticides linked to bee death are imidacloprid, and thiamethoxam. These are also used extensively in the US, while elsewhere, they have been taken out of circulation.

Recently, the FDA also seized Terrence Ingram’s bees, a naturalist who had been studying bees for over 30 years, and had a  colony that was resistant to Monsanto’s Round Up. Ingram’s prized hives, along with their queens, were destroyed by the FDA, and Ingram was given no warning that his bees would be demolished.

We won’t lose anything tho, Monsanto will sell genetically modified non-reproducing seed.

logic mostly. Monsanto sells seeds and has the ability to modify them, and they got the motive. It’s in Monsanto’s best interest to insure that there’s no other way to get their product and that no one can get it free. To Monsanto reproducing seed is seed piracy and the only reason bees pollinate is to allow plants to reproduce seeds.

If 95% of all pollinating insects are killed off or reduced dramatically probably most of the plant life on earth would die off as well.

Ok, for one, we would not lose all of those things..
We may not be able to grow these things on a large scale, with out bees, so you won’t be able to go buy them at the story anymore….But, on a small scale you yourself, the wind, airflow, and close proximity of plants allow them to spread their pollen….with out bees.

Bees spread pollen faster and efficiently, but it can be done with out them. I have greenhouses and I care for all kinds of vegetable and non vegetable plants and: bees are not required.

But I am not doing thing on a large scale, like a field. Im doing it in a 35,000 sq ft greenhouse, which still is quite large.

What this would actually do with out bees: Total Crop harvested from all over the world would be less and less as time passed (as bees pop shrinks). A decline of food avaliable to the general human population.
Sounds like a nother foot of Population Control on the human population by Monsanto and Others to me.
But its not a big deal, I dont like bees, theyre aggressive bastards they can all die.

I agree with Debi. Labelling of GMO Products is just NOT Enough.
We have to BAN all GMO’s , Pesticides, Herbicides, Antibiotics, Hormones, Additives, Dyes, and Everything that is Contaminating ALL Living Matter on this Planet.
Nature had it Perfect for us and Satanic, Greedy Organizations have contaminated this Planet. This is the very reason that Disease is on the rise. Of course, the rise in disease is exactly what BIG PHARMA wants to happen. They can push more Drugs and fill their astronomically Rich Coffers at the expense of our health.
Why have we become so STUPID and why do we turn a Blind Eye to what is happening.
We have to do as God and Nature intended for us – NOT follow SATAN and his army of Biotechnical Companies, BIG PHARMA and all other members of his army that is Disrupting and Killing Life!

there are HUGE COMPANIES and many of them that will opposed to all intervention. There are trillions involved in these industries. They will never get rid of this pesticides even knowing is destroying the earth … it will have a change reaction that no one will be able to stop. Like in 2007-08 were not able to stop all the stupid things the banks did for years and years, and when the damage is done it will affect to all of us, including them.

we are to blame for this. it is our very upbringing that is responsible for this. we all want to do better than our neighbors and we will do it at any cost. we want what we cannot afford so we do things to make those want no longer wants but haves. we sell our souls to get what we want. we work to buy the products these big corporations sell us and we don’t care how it was made where it was made or who has to suffer to make it we just want it. The worst of us are those who work for these corporations and lie along with these corporations and who make false claims to make the big companies look good in order to feed and take care of who? THEMSELVES AND THEIR OWN. With such selfish upbringing it is no wonder we are at this place in our lives. yes it is you me and everyone else who has a part in what this world has become today.

Amazing how people comment without actually having read the article.
We have a number of friends who raise bees. There is nothing quite
like natural, local honey for a wide variety of reasons and health
concerns. Domestic bees are a remarkable resource that we would
be lost without. Thanks for a sobering wake-up call. No matter how
big or small, we all need to do our part to solve the problems…

I am doing all that I can…but my philosophy is always…’let it fall where it may’…if we have no power to change it. It is what it is…and I refuse to ‘pray’ about it..etc… I’m a doer…so show me what to do..and I will do it…but if we are talking about lobbyists…that are pushing the pesticides..that kill our beloved bees…well, where are the fruit growers in all this???? Where is their lobby..for what is right and moral..and making sure we have what we need to survive as a species???? When will you, Mike Adams report on that??? You’ve got all the negative here..but where is the other side?? or is this all your public is wishing to read…death and destruction issues????

Usually I find it is a matter of money….always. And if some well-known, well-thought-of celebrity doesn’t bring it to the forefront, then it stays dormant, struggling to catch hold. But more and more people are waking up and realizing we are being socially controlled, and that it is NOT the Fruits and Nuts Granola hippie crowd who have it wrong.

These are foods, which correlate with money, which is where the trail always leads back to. There's nothing on the list about native plants or flowers in general. I wish we could spray something on Monsanto's Chief officers. Maybe we could get Dorothy and Toto to throw water on them and make them melt. I agree with GMO labeling in the short run and GMO eradication as the permanent fix, for that dilemma at least.

Hi guys. I am a bit confused. Roundup is a herbicide, ie it kills plants (so is used to kill weeds, tho it will kill a wide range of other plants too). I didn't know it harmed bees at all? In fact I was not aware it killed insects as a rule, tho I can believe that it might…. many PESTICIDES kill bees. Are you getting confused?

Interesting… So if Mr. Ingram had hives resistant to pecticides, would this correlate to higher production of honey and contamination from the GMO crops??? This would be a primary reason that Monsanto and friends would want his valuable hives.
Although, It they were resistant…. I for one would not want to eat that honey.
This country needs to ban GMO crops PERIOD.
And the people who want a LABEL on GMO had better wise up to the fact that in a matter of years, even your little LABEL on organic produce will be contaminated by GMO and the insects and bees that have mastered the art of survival of the fittest.
