As Americans Reject Monsanto, Organic is Booming Like Crazy

Farmers can't even keep up with demand

For every farmer who sold out to Monsanto’s agenda, they’ll likely be kicking themselves in the plants soon enough. What will it take for America’s farmers to realize that Americans don’t want to eat genetically modified food when they don’t even want to purchase it as feed for their livestock? Sorry Monsanto, but demand for organic food is absolutely booming.

We’re importing organic corn from Romania, and organic soy from India. (Soybeans are the second-biggest US organic import, with $184 million shipped last year from various countries.) Much of our organic produce comes from Mexico.

As consumer demand for organic products explodes, America’s farmers seem slow on the uptake. Of course with rare exceptions, like the organic farmer in California that is grossing $100,000 an acre even during the state’s worst drought on record.

Other than the odd non-profit that promotes organic farming through recognizing the direct connection between our health and how the food we eat is produced, the organic farming market is not getting the support it deserves. Omitting artificial fertilizers and encouraging farmers to develop fertile soil by rotating crops and using compost, manure, and clover is essential to produce good, non-toxic food.

Is it that America’s farmers can’t feed America, or just won’t?

After all, we primarily grow GM corn and soy, used as ethanol and animal feed. By 2012, 88 percent of corn (maize) and 94 percent of soy grown in the United States were genetically modified, according to the US Department of Agriculture.

While many Americans are in a food crisis – we’re growing GM crops for petrochemical-subsidized fuel, not food.

“The Enogen-branded corn is being grown for the first time commercially on about 5,000 acres on the edge of America’s corn belt in Kansas, following its approval by the US Department of Agriculture last February. In its promotional material Syngenta says it will allow farmers to produce more ethanol from the corn while using less energy and water.”

Other countries are now even turning our genetically modified crops away too. China has now refused at least a dozen several-ton shipments of GM corn.

Even our own farmers won’t eat what they are growing. Kirk Bair, a farmer that grows GM seed from Monsanto feels he has no choice. He grows GM crops but won’t eat them.

Meanwhile, farmers in India, Argentina, Mexico, and other countries all over the globe are refusing to grow Monsanto, Bayer, Dow, and Syngenta’s poison crops.

I’m asking all farmers – when will you stop growing GM and start growing organic? You are missing out on an industry that is absolutely exploding, and an opportunity to stand for the brave and the free. Ditch the GM corn and soy and start planting something we can actually eat.

Perhaps all you Organic nuts should learn the difference between GMC(genetically modified crops) and GMO(genetically modified organism)….or maybe that genetic modification of plants has been going on for millennia, only know we are hastening what has been a natural process all along. Do any of you even know what they do to those genetically modified crops…do you? Can you explain it in simple English, because it can be explained in simple English terms than anyone can understand.

Zaklex…What are you talking about…? Maybe you GMO nuts should learn that if you plant GMO seeds, you get GMO crops…GMO IS NOT a natural process…They have to actually splice a gene of glyphosate in with the corn, for example…Yes, we have been genetically modifying certain fruits and vegetables, etc…ie., seedless watermelon, bigger and juicier apples and oranges and many more but NO ONE has done the devil’s duty like Monsanto…I no longer eat meat since GMO corn is fed to the cattle…I buy as much organic as I can…and I also look for the Non-GMO Project labels…I lease my house and when the yard men came to work, I made them pick the weeds by hand because they had Roundup in their 5-gallon backpack…I didn’t want the Roundup to leech into the soul…I wish I was able to home-grow some food but that’ll happen when my friends build me some yard boxes…Go organic everyone…Don’t buy GMO foods…Monsanto and their loyal pack of 6 are trying to poison us…and they want to take over the world’s food supply…

So is home-growing vegetables and fruits, for this same reason.

I consider GMO’s a crime against humanity, nature & the planet. However, even if all the US farmers woke up tomorrow & decided to grow organic (please God !), one glaring problem remains. All those acres of farmland so relentlessly saturated with Roundup (& God knows what other toxic potions) for the last 20 years. That stuff will not just vanish from the soil overnight & anything grown in that tainted chemical soup could not be considered organic.

Let’s get real here. NOTHING is organic anymore!! The nutrition from the soil is gone, Chemtrails, Fukishima and GMO’S. Dont think other fields are not being contaminated by upwinds and downwinds.

If only I had continued with my organic produce enterprise idea, when I was in my teens and into my early twenties, I would have tapped into the biggest potential market out there. As Jim Rogers says “The farmer will be driving the Ferrari’, and the financial worker will be driving the tractor. One should always check ‘Organic Certification’ if it applies to any produce, because it is not always as organic as you may think it is. I had applied for organic grower certification some time ago and they are not as strict as one may like to think. It may have changed for the better now. Farmer’s market or Co-Op produce and direct from the farm gate is the best way to go as long as you can converse with the grower themselves and get to know and trust their produce. I have to add this note: Some farmers may jump on the bandwagon of the booming ‘Organic Market’, but buyer beware! If you truly want 100% organic, you have to know from the grower, that the ground the produce is being grown upon, is not laden with long lasting residues like Dieldrin, and other toxic chemicals, used on pastures and tilled soil, and whatever else may have been used before that remains in the soil and is later absorbed up by the plants, such as heavy metals and so forth. It is not only the use of organic practices from the day a farmer likes to call themselves an organic grower, but what past practices nullify their use of the term organic! Organic should also imply the non-use of artificial chemical fertilisers whatsoever. This may exclude rock dust, which may have minerals required by plants and is inorganic. Organic also implies that there are micro-organisms that break down organic matter into soluble and useable nutrients for the plant. Beneficial bacteria working on the decomposition of organic matter in the soil, in turn, deters bad bacteria and micro-organisms. When soil becomes barren from organic matter from the overuse of artificial chemical fertilisers over time, pest and unwanted micro-organisms dominate and thus more chemical pesticides are required to combat the problems because it has become devoid of the good micro-organisms. One example of this is root knot nematode in tomato plants and other solanaceous species. The heavy use of ‘only organic practices’ promotes health in plants and soil and fosters abundant worm activity, that also naturally cultivate and aerate the soil. Companion planting is another organic practice that fosters natural control of insects and diseases and to plants. The origin of the seed used should also be verified, as it would no longer be classified as organic, if organic practices were used but ‘marketed as organic’, if the seed is GMO derived. I could say more, but let’s just leave it at that for now. Happy Organic Gardening to all…!

It’s a strange irony that farmers, and country folk in general, have little respect for nature and the environment. Thus farmers never thought twice about signing on to the Frankenfood agenda.

They did it for the money. Starve the consumer and they will do it for the money every time.
