I applaud you Shane for waking up and getting rid of the most dangerous item in the home. The TV! While there is helpful and useful information on the web, I'm sure you're cautious there too. Drudge & CNN are mega mind controllers, appearing (deceitfully) to be on opposite sides of the "left/right paradigm". Keep cracking the history books... Peace!

there is nothing in this article that is not a fact. We are being controlled on a regular basis, im sure some of u would agree that the matrix movie is not a coincidence, it is reality. The world will change very soon, we are living in the end times no doubt.

A few things. Article is correct, advertising creates a class conscience and a "keeping up with Joneses". Resetto-look into what made them healthy and then, decline.....
Wnet recently to see the Girl with Dragon Tattoo movie...good story, but would advise in light of this article, to avoid it-why?
We had at least 2 characters blase about adultery, 2-3 sex scenes and a rather graphic rape/sodomy scene.
I am a former Cop/CSI and married 16 yrs, not a prude on normal heterosexual sex, Christian and I was extremely uncomfortable through 1/2 the movie, so too, the wife.
Oh and forgot, there is a graphic Lesbian scene-so we have un-natural and preverse, anti-natural sex to boot....
Said movie, again, could easily leave much of graphic out and still get the story lines out there.....bothered me far more then entertained me.....

A decent article, however, there is so much left out of the discussion.

"When you compare yourself to a famous individual or a person who is depicted as ‘successful’, you may be setting yourself up to subconsciously feel less valuable from the comparison."

It goes far beyond just feeling 'less valuable'. It creates a mentality of worship. The endless number of award shows also aid in the creation of a worship mentality in the masses. It is the reason that the celebrity "reality" TV shows are so successful, American Idol (and similar programs) are so popular, and millions of pop culture focused magazines are sold on a weekly basis. How many times have you heard someone refer to the emotion they associate with a star as "love"? As in, "Oh I LOVE Lady Gaga!". It isn't the music or the fashion, it is Lady Gaga herself which is loved for whatever conscious reasons the person can conjure up to excuse their worship mindset.

"A blurring of reality with fiction occurs in this scenario, where the individual is influenced to orient themselves in alignment with these false goals and aspirations that are implanted into them through these mediums."

I'm in major agreement with you, here. The media's usage of new production techniques such as cheaper film quality and purposeful 'involuntary' camera movement can create a "realistic" scenario where people start to be unable to distinguish between obvious TV fakery and real life. Many commercials now feature "spur of the moment" scenarios where the people are presented as real "people on the street". A few of these commercials may even be actual random "man on the street" opinions. But even those are filmed several times to gain the "proper" reaction the advertisers are looking for. None of it is genuine reality. And that is something that is SEVERELY blurring the lines of reality and fiction. The "HD" phenomenon is only making it worse, and the inevitable true-3d holographic technology that will soon be out will completely destroy that disappearing line between reality and fantasy.

One last thing. I'm not sure if you include marijuana, mushrooms, or peyote in your discussion of "drugs". However, these natural plants and fungi have been used throughout millenia as a method for spiritual enlightenment and expansion of consciousness. I don't think it is right to condemn all of what the legal system calls "drugs" as detrimental to the human condition.

Keep up the good work.
