Fluoride still has its place in many municipal water supplies and dental products throughout this country – at least that’s what the CDC thinks. The CDC calls public fluoridation one of the foremost health achievements of the 20th century, and yet fluoride is a deadly substance that has been pushed using propaganda.

The main ingredient in rat poison and many pesticides, fluoride is a known toxic substance. It is documented as being used by Nazis as sarin nerve gas, as well as having the ability to mitigate aggression and dissent in prisoners. Interestingly, fluoride is also the main ingredient in Prozac, producing a similar lobotomizing effect on those who use it.

If this wasn’t enough, fluoride consumption has also been linked to various types of cancer and health defects, even being called the #1 cause of death.

This chemical byproduct was given its place in municipal water supplies in the midst of the 20th century, and has been featured more and more in dental practice as well as home care dental products.

The premise of municipal fluoridation is to diminish tooth decay in populations, but fluoride has been shown to little or no impact on oral health and hygiene.

The propaganda however is strong, assuring unwitting partakers that fluoride is good for their teeth, and some dentists make it a staple of their practice to use fluoride in their procedure as a topical agent, or a supplement. For a long time, fluoride has been given to young children and adults alike, so it’s impossible to know the full extent of the damage done in this regard.

The truth is being realized though, with various townships and cities are actively calling for the removal of fluoride from their water supplies. It’s hard for fluoride propaganda to be effective when it is an obvious façade with numerous holes destroying its credibility.

While fluoride is being removed in some locations, many also have yet to take action. In addition to this, fluoride still lurks in the food supply and many dental products and some medicines like prozac. Be wary of these products, and quick to educate yourself and others on the true nature of such a substance.

Preventing the formation of cavities is much easier and more effective than ‘treating’ it with fillings or other dental interventions. In addition, it can save you a considerable amount of financial turmoil. Cavity treatment can cost you hundreds of dollars, depending on how bad the damage can be. If you want to know how to prevent cavities the natural way (without the use of chemical treatments or mainstream dentistry), here are some tips to help you do so:

How to Prevent Cavities – Simple Solutions

Consume foods rich in alkaline. Alkaline is responsible for making the bones strong and healthy. Thus, eating alkaline-rich foods can help prevent the formation of cavities. Foods that are rich in alkaline include fruits and vegetable.

Balance acidity levels. Being too acidic can result in an unbalanced pH level in the body, which will lead the body to lose calcium. Calcium is essential to helping keep the bones healthy. Avoid eating too much acidic or sugar-related foods, as they set the acidity of the body off-balance.

Eat raw vegetables. Cooking vegetables makes them lose their cell-building nutrients, which will result in getting lower levels of essential nutrients. Eat your vegetables raw once in a while to maximize the nutrients you can receive.

Use tea tree oil. Incorporating tea tree oil into the oral products you use on your teeth is very beneficial. Tea tree can actually protect the teeth from bacteria growth, so cavities would not build up.

Drink more water. Water is needed to produce saliva. Saliva is very important because it protects the mouth. It contains important mucus and enzymes which help cover the teeth. Without saliva, the body cannot easily break down the food, and also will not be able to help balance out the acidity levels of the mouth.

Don’t fall for fluoride – Although not necessarily included in the methods on how to prevent cavities, fluoride has falsely been pushed on the public as a cavity preventative for years. What you should know, however, is that fluoride has been shown to be ineffective at cavity prevention, with vitamin D even shown to outrank it. In addition, fluoride supplements have also been shown to produce little benefit.

Needless to say, significantly reducing the consumption of junk food, sugar-heavy foods, and processed foods is also among the well-known methods for how to prevent cavities. Not only will cavities appear less, but overall health will also improve. These are just some of the steps you can do to ensure that your are cavity-free. With these solutions you not only help your teeth – you help your body

Bad breath and bleeding gums are not sexy.

But periodontitis, an inflammation or infection of the gums, may hamper your sex life in another way: it may be a cause of erectile dysfunction, a new study suggests.

The results showed that periodontitis impaired erectile function in rats.

The findings agree with a previous study that showed periodontitis is more common in men with erectile dysfunction than men without erectile dysfunction.

Dentists and doctors should be made aware of the connection, said the researchers from Luzhou Medical College in China.

“Identifying and treating periodontitis in the patient presenting with or without [erectile dysfunction] may improve the patient’s sexual health,” the researchers wrote.

However, others say the link is a bit of a stretch.

“I don’t think your gums are related to your penis in any reasonable way,” said Dr. Andrew Kramer, a surgeon and erectile dysfunction expert at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Instead, periodontitis may be an indicator of overall poor health, which increases the risk of erectile dysfunction, Kramer said. Conditions such as obesity, heart disease and diabetes have also been linked with erectile dysfunction.

More research is needed to understand whether inflammatory diseases, which include periodontitis, are a cause of erectile dysfunction, he said.

Gum disease and erectile dysfunction

Periodontitis has been linked with an increased risk of heart disease, and, heart disease has been linked with erectile dysfunction. The researchers wondered whether periodontitis might be directly tied to erectile dysfunction, and how the two might be connected.

They found periodontitis increased inflammation in the rats’ bodies. Inflammation is an immune response and can be beneficial when your body is fighting off infection, but chronically high levels are known to be bad for overall health.

Rats with periodontitis also had less of an enzyme involved in achieving an erection, called eNOS. This enzyme produces nitric oxide, which relaxes blood vessels and increases blood flow to the penis.

The inflammation produced by periodontitis may decrease nitric oxide, which then interferes with erection, the researchers said.

Role of inflammation

The study is “one of the first indications that inflammation could have a negative impact on erectile function,” said Dr. David Meldrum, an infertility expert and professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, who was not involved in the study.

Earlier studies have found the men with erectile dysfunction have higher levels of certain inflammatory markers, such as C-reactive protein, in their bodies, Meldrum said.

Another major cause of inflammation is abdominal fat, Meldrum said, which is also a known risk factor for erectile dysfunction.

Inflammation is also thought to play a role in heart disease, so it may be a common factor in periodontitis, heart disease and erectile dysfunction.

More research is needed to see whether treating periodontitis could also treat erectile dysfunction, the researchers said.

The study was published online June 23 in the Journal of Sexual Medicine.
