Junk food and healthy food don’t cost the same, we know that. Junk food often costs a bit less, at least if we go by the initial price tag. The truth is that price varies based on what people buy and location.

Below is an infographic of the price of junk food vs. fresh food. It takes 30 common supermarket food items and puts them on a scatterplot. Investigate the infographic to find out what foods are highest in calories, sodium, and sugar but lowest in price.

Love this graph. The sugar and sodium graphs are so crazy.

I don't get what the infographic is trying to illustrate. Comparing a frozen pizza to a dozen eggs doesn't make much sense since a consumer would never be deciding between those two things. Also, all of the "good" foods require preparation of some kind, which I would bet has far more impact on the decision than the cost.
