Dr. Gary Null, Organic Consumers, Others Speak Out Against Dr. Oz’s Organic Food Lies
Dr. Oz’s attack on informed individuals who choose to eat high quality organic foods free of genetically modified organisms and IQ-damaging pesticides has led to serious outcry over the past week. Many more health advocates are now joining independent journalists highlighting the many errors in Dr. Oz’s claims. This is great news as far as I’m concerned, having written my own piece detailing Dr. Oz’s lies regarding the consumption of GMOs and pesticides in conventional food.
Following the Time Magazine article piece in which Dr. Oz stated that GMO-laden conventional food is comparable to organic, full of nutritional value, and even that those that choose real organic food are ‘elitists’ and ‘snobs’, leading health experts have come out against the celebrity doctor’s claims.
Dr. Oz Facing Mass Response from Real Informed Consumers and Experts
Ronnie Cummins of the Organic Consumers Associated has authored a piece appearing on Alternet detailing how Dr. Oz, a man who has actually had shows which placed GMOs and pesticides in a negative light, has taken a card from politicians and flip-flopped on the issue. Whether due to the failure of Prop 37, a big financial incentive, or who knows what, Dr. Oz has effectively betrayed his informed fan base. The article is appropriately entitled ‘Dr. Oz Flip-Flops as High-Profile Attacks on Organic Food Intensify’.
Some point out how Dr. Oz has sold out to Big Agriculture by siding with Monsanto and others. He also goes on to offer a possibility that I agree with, which is the likely possibility that Dr. Oz didn’t actually even author the article. Instead, he simply signed off on it — perhaps for a large financial incentive from a third party. The reasons for this are many, but the most important is the fact that the piece has too many similarities with recent organic assault pieces straight out of Time Magazine itself.
Outside of that, it’s very common for celebrities and major personalities to simply hire on a team of ghostwriters to generate stories for certain gigs. But even if Dr. Oz did not write the piece himself, he is still sticking up for it. On his Facebook page, Dr. Oz has tried many times to ‘set the record straight’ by literally repeating what was stated in his article. In the latest post he says that ‘critics’ of his post, which literally means those who are against GMOs and pesticides, just don’t seem to get it:
“Critics of the Time Magazine piece argue that my use of the phrase “food snob” (which describes me as well) undermines their fight to preserve the integrity of the American food supply.”
Immediately grouping everyone with informed opinions on food additives as ‘critics’ of Dr. Oz, Oz separates himself from millions of concerned consumers around the globe who were concerned with his organic food lies. Instead of apologizing, Dr. Oz continues to defend his statements.
And in case you’re doubting just how many people are fighting against GMOs (a number of which I am very grateful follow my work on a regular basis), you need to look no farther than Dr. Oz’s Facebook comments page. Over the past several days, the comments section has been almost 100% related to the Time piece. From demands for apology to accusations of being bought out by Monsanto, fans are not happy.
Dr. Oz’s loss of countless fans due to his organic food lies and failure to tell the truth about GMOs and other conventional food concerns shows how the element of truth works. Even if you’re a celebrity doctor with millions of fans, covering up information on such serious issues will not be forgotten. The new media, the alternative media, is entirely centered around exposing the truth in regards to topics that the mainstream media will not touch. Alternative media outlets make mistakes sometimes as we all do, but legitimate outlets push for truth. Dr. Oz appears to be pushing for the opposite.
I would not say Oz is losing a fan base. just hit refresh on his fanpage and see the number of followers constantly going up
Wow. Organic and GMO the same? This is such a false statement it’s ridiculous. It’s a proven fact the stuff we grow conventional is made with all kinds of pesticides that cause numerous health problems. I guess Dr Oz is worried more about job security than the public health these days.
You probably already know not to trust the news from most of the media. The "revolving door" between those hidden in the background, government of all levels, Corpo-RATS and BigFarma, goes far beyond any one can think about it. The editors of …this….or…that…, are wearing glasses about as thickly shaded with agenda as is possible.
The politicians and the media have all been put there by those hidden in the background as a means to uphold the status quo and prevent any kind of change from actually taking place.
For example, Pharmaceutical companies and Big Agriculture like Monsanto for many years had many of us convinced that they were working fervently to develop safe medications and quality food (GMO) that would cure and prevent virtually every disease plaguing the world besides feeding the GLOBE. (Insert laughter here…).
But these current-day messiahs are not the model holiness they would have you believe … Just think about this. Has our advanced modern medicine produced humans in possession of great health and longevity or super humans? No. As a matter of fact quite the contrary… But it gets worst. Health problems and issues that were associated, in the past, to old age, today are affecting young children, 5, 10 and 15 years old, all thanks to full of hot air advanced modern medicine (and food production and processes).
"Hospital Infections, surgical mistakes, and other medical harm contribute to the deaths of 180,000 hospital patients a year, according to projections based on a 2010 report from the Department of Health and Human Services. Another 1.4 million are seriously hurt by their hospital care. And those figures apply only to Medicare patients.
What about the notion of forcing people directly or indirectly to try out the latest vaccines by advocate them as safe? Big Pharma and their supporters (media and government) have the most callous absence of regard for the billions of years of evolutionary development that took us to our present, intact form, without vaccination.
They shamelessly promote baby formula over breast milk and synthetic immunity via vaccines over natural immunity. Their Frankenstein philosophy promotes the introduction of foreign DNA capable of pathogenesis, toxic metals, preservatives and chemical compounds into the body of human beings.
While the world suffers a tidal wave of chronic diseases and acute maladies, individuals like Dr OZ are too busy lining their pockets pushing crappy medicine and treatments, GMO foods and their own agenda.
Actually, what Big Pharma, Monsanto and their, (for financial incentives), wh%#@s like Dr OZ, promote as “science” today is so snortingly laughable that could make your ribs hurt. People living in the future will look back and wonder how we could have been so delusional. But unfortunately, right now, not a single politician has the gonads to ….tell them to F%&k off. Therefore, WE the people must.
Awesome responce. Well thought and written.
There may be a huge financial incentive involved, but there may also be a literal gun to his head. I don't doubt for a minute that those in high places in MSM have sold their souls. Not that this is an excuse. I say, pull the trigger. I would rather die now for telling the truth than die later after deceiving and endangering millions in order to save my skin.
When it comes right down to "it," Dr. Oz is a doctor's doctor! He was trained to use medicine, and operate on sick people. I once saw him condoning drinking some kind of soft drink several years ago, like Pepsi and mixing it with a neutral water, maybe it was soda water. Well,……if you are a health nut, (as I am) drinking any soft drink is just as bad as eating Lucky Charms cereal for breakfast….gross me out. He has made many "mistakes" in the "healthy lifestyle" he professes to have on his show. I'm sure his wife tells him about it, since she has been Vegan for long time. I have learned some interesting facts on occasion, but honestly, I stick to my favorite authors advice. I love it when he has guests like Dr. Mercola, T. Colin Campbell, or Dr. Weil. He needs to get his facts straight on HMO, that is for sure!!
Dr Oz often refers to his mediterranean diet, which is proven in so many ways to be better than what the majority of Americans eat. Less heart disease etc etc.
Sorry folks, there is NO difference between " organic" foods than regular lets say veggies except price. It is a marketing ploy to charge you 8 dollars for a tomato
MANy of those” fans” have writtten on the board to critize him however,
Trust is something I don't give easily these days. I always check the facts with multiple sources and confirm the validity of any claims made. Unfortunately most of the general population doesn't do this and takes everything they hear on TV as fact. These are the same people who go to the store and believe the food packing that says things like "healthy choice" and "all natural" when nothing could be further from the truth.
oz is wrong I went from GMO,s to organic and I have to say my health is better and feel like I am 20 years younger,So I know for fact he is wrong.
Organic consumers are always more healthy than other food consumer. organic foods give the proper nutrition to the human being and balance our both mental and physical growth. From a survey it is cleared that an organic food consumer has a good health and stable mentality than the other. Health experts are always advice to go for organic food.
Dance of money. The money never sleep !
Why cant people handle the truth anymore? He said (as well as many other experiments) that theyre is no concrete support for organic to be better in any way shape or form. Stanford has conducted test as well as Harvard and they all show that they are homogeneous in nutritional value. Please listen and VISIT a real farm that growns “organic” for large supermarkets with hundreds to thousands of acres and see the reality of how they get sprayed despite being organic. And heres another link to enlightened yall
